The Problem
Heavy Pennine rainfall repeatedly caused the front gutters to overflow during thunderstorms, soaking the exterior brickwork. The underlying wooden fascias had rotted around bracket screw holes, causing sections of guttering to sag visibly.
Our Technical Assessment
The wooden fascias were structurally compromised and could not safely hold the weight of waterlogged gutters. Capping over the rot with thin plastic would trap damp and rot the rafter feet. A full removal and replacement was mandatory.
The Solution & Workmanship
All decayed timber fascias and soffits were removed. Rafter ends were treated with timber preservative. We installed eaves protection felt trays beneath the first row of tiles, followed by 18mm solid structural uPVC fascias in Anthracite Grey, continuous vented soffits, and high-capacity deep-flow gutters capable of managing 50% more flow than standard profiles.
The Result & Guarantee
Transformed exterior appearance matching the home's contemporary grey windows. Zero rainwater overflow even in heavy downpours, and completely eliminated the need for future timber painting.
